About

Rooted In Place, Built By People

The society brings together local horticulture, practical industry, and shared village life across Glanton and the surrounding district.

History

A Society With Working Roots

Glanton And District Horticultural And Industrial Society grew from a long-standing rural tradition: neighbours gathering to compare produce, share practical knowledge, and celebrate local skill. Over time, that annual rhythm expanded into workshops, youth engagement, heritage classes, and civic collaboration.

Today, the organization acts as a public meeting point for residents who care about growing, making, learning, and preserving the character of the district.

Our story

From Annual Show To Year-Round Community Platform

The annual show remains a defining public moment, but the society now works across the full calendar. Members support demonstrations, produce displays, practical workshops, volunteer drives, and outreach that makes village life more connected and more resilient.

That shift from event organizer to community anchor defines who we are now.
